Pricing
All massages, regardless of your choice, are the same price. With each massage, you may choose one or all of the following additional services at no extra cost: aromatherapy, cold packs, hot towel treatments, chinese cupping, and hot stone work on the back or in one area of tension. There is a $15.00 discount for first time clients who schedule a 60-, 75-, or 90-minute massage.

Table Massage
30 Minutes -$45
A 30-minute massage will give the therapist time to focus on one or two problem areas. It does not allow enough time for a full body massage.

45 Minutes - $55
A 45-minute massage works well for clients who want just an upper body massage or a massage with concentration in 1-2 areas of pain. It does not give the therapist enough time to give a full body massage.

60 Minutes - $70
A 60-minute massage allows time for a full body massage or work on several areas of tension when the client feels that more than 30 or 45 minutes is needed to relieve pain.

75 Minutes - $80
A 75-minute massage allows time for a full body massage with some extra work in one area of tension. It is also a good choice for larger individuals, as they may need more time than smaller individuals to receive a full body massage.

90 Minutes - $90
A 90-minute massage allows time for a full body massage with some extra work in two areas of tension. It is also a good choice for larger individuals who have pain, as they may need more time than smaller individuals to receive a massage.

Mary has taken classes for the following techniques: Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Chinese Meridian Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Chair Massage, Prenatal Massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage, and Indian Head Massage. Her specialties include Prenatal massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage (for relieving neck pain and headache pain), and gentle massage for people with fibromyalgia. Definitions for her specialties are below.

Deep Tissue/Sports Massage
A Deep Tissue Massage relieves muscle tension and reduces muscular pain. People with chronic pain or athletes who wish to increase their performance will most likely benefit from regular deep tissue massage. Erin does not give pre/post-event sports massage. She focuses only on the maintenance massage portion of sports massage that is performed in the office on a table. A 30-minute deep tissue session will only allow the therapist to concentrate on one or two areas of the body. Most serious athletes choose a 60-, 75-, or 90-minute session.

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a fully clothed massage that can be done while sitting in a normal chair or lying on a table. It is a part of Ayurveda, an ancient healing system that is over 5,000 years old. During a session, the therapist will massage your shoulders, upper arms, neck, face, scalp, and ears. It is excellent for relieving neck pain, and pain associated with headaches. Indian Head massage can be incorporated into a massage session or booked as a stand alone service.

Oncology Massage
Oncology massage refers to massage tailored to the needs of individuals with cancer. This specialized practice requires therapists to be fully educated in and pay close attention to the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of clients in all stages of cancer: diagnosis, treatment, recovery, survivor, or terminal. Training in oncology massage covers appropriate bodywork modalities for cancer clients, includes precautions for radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, and covers physiology and pathology.

Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage
Prenatal Massage techniques can relax mom and reduce the pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy. There is probably nothing better than receiving massage during this stage in a woman's life.

Erin is one of the few certified prenatal massage therapists in the area. She was trained under Becky Stoermann-Snelson, who has been a labor and delivery nurse for the past 30 years as well as a certified prenatal massage therapist. Below, we have answered two of the most common questions women ask about prenatal massage. Feel free to call or e-mail Erin if you have more questions.

Can I lie face down?
Many moms-to-be hear about some massage therapists who have specialty equipment that enables them to lie face down while on the table. While this sounds great to many pregnant women, it can actually be very detrimental. Massaging a pregnant woman face down increases intrauterine pressure, decreasing blood flow to the fetus and placing stress on your baby. It also places stress on the uterine ligament, which attaches to your tailbone and uterus. While it may feel good to lay face down for a while, the extra stress on this ligament causes more low back pain for the mother in the long run. Erin only gives side lying/semi-reclining massage. With 7 large pillows for you to lie on, the table becomes a pillow haven for every pregnant woman. Women who have experienced Erin's side-lying massage say it is more comfortable than any face down massages they have received. Most want to run home and buy more pillows for their own bed immediately following the session.

Can I receive a massage during my 1st trimester?
During your first trimester, you may receive massage from our therapists as long as you do not have a high risk pregnancy and/or you are not experiencing certain complications. Many therapists will not give massage to women during their first trimester because there is a high rate of miscarriage in the first few months of pregnancy, and they are worried about being blamed if a woman has a miscarriage. Massage does not cause miscarriage. As long as you understand and accept that, you are welcome to receive massage in our office at any time during your pregnancy.

Reflexology
Reflexology is an alternative medicine method involving the practice of massaging or applying pressure to parts of the feet (similar to acupuncture or acupressure), or sometimes the hands and ears, with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health. Reflexology can be incorporated into a massage session or booked as a stand alone service.

Swedish
The long, flowing strokes of Swedish Massage will decrease your stress level by increasing endorphins (happy hormones) in your brain. Some people may experience pain relief with Swedish massage, but it is mainly designed to soothe the client and leave them feeling relaxed and refreshed. If you just want to feel good and spoiled without needing pain relief, this is the massage for you!
